Sumptuous Breakfast And Boma Dinner Buffet Menus:
The show starts from breakfast time when "Elvis", the king of our baboon troop, visits the breakfast area with his family. Our breakfasts are served outdoor buffet style near the Mara River or next to our wildlife waterhole and lagoon. We may even surprise you with an open savannah style breakfast. A full assortment of juices, milk, cereals, and yogurt are offered with a variety of fresh croissant, rolls, breakfast cakes and other bakery items. Omelets and eggs any style are prepared at the buffet and accompanied with freshly grilled bacon, ham or sausages. Pancakes, crepes or waffles and assorted cheeses are also available.
Royal Mara guests on a minimum three night stay also experience a next to a campfire dinner in our traditional bush boma setting. This is an opportunity to dine Maasai style. The dinner is prepared and grilled in the open boma area on spits from which individual portions are carved at the guests' table. The following menu is usually offered at our boma:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kenyan bean soup with African style bread rolls
African mixed salad with bush dressing
Selection of charcoal grilled meats, kebabs, vegetable kebabs, traditional roasted potatoes and baked sweet potatoes, roasted bananas, buttered corn on the cob and yams with baked rice and Kenyan sukumawiki vegetables cooked with traditional Kenyan maize
Chocolate profiteroles with fresh fruit salad
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
All breakfasts and boma dinners include Kenyan cheeses and African tea or brewed American style coffee as well as a variety of house wines and assorted soft drinks. During the boma dinner Maasai Il Moran warriors in full regalia perform a traditional cultural Maasai jumping dance around the boma fire. After dinner assorted liqueurs and cognacs are offered to our guests around the campfire while they share stories of their recent game drives and wildlife sightings.
